01What reed strength should I use with the B40?
Wide tip openings work with softer reeds. Players moving from a close-facing mouthpiece usually drop at least a half strength, often a full one. Start softer than you think and work up.
02Is this good for a beginner?
The wide tip demands more air support and embouchure control than a close facing. A student still building those will fight it. Better as a second mouthpiece once the basics are solid.
