It is the usual step up from a 2. If you are still fighting for a steady tone, a 2 is easier. Move to 2.5 once your embouchure holds without strain.
02How long does one reed last?
Depends on how much you play. Rotate three or four so each dries out between sessions. Replace when it plays dull and stuffy, chips at the tip, or the tip warps.
03Will these work on my tenor sax or clarinet?
No. These are cut for alto saxophone. Tenor and clarinet reeds are different sizes and will not seat correctly on those mouthpieces.
04Do I get a ligature with this?
No. This is ten reeds and nothing else. You need your own mouthpiece, ligature and cap.
