Sterling by Music ManStingRay 5 RAY35 HH 5-String Electric Bass Guitar - Chalk Gray

Two Sterling by Music Man alnico humbuckers work with a 5-way selector and 9V 3-band active preamp to cover focused bridge-pickup attack, fuller neck-pickup tones and several combined voices. A nyatoh body, roasted maple neck and rosewood fingerboard provide a solid foundation, while the 34" scale supports a clear, controlled low B. For players stepping into a 5-string or seeking more range from the StingRay format, the RAY35 HH combines the familiar StingRay voice with broader switching and extended-range performance. Dual Alnico Humbuckers Broaden the StingRay Voice Two Sterling by Music Man alnico humbuckers give the RAY35 HH more tonal options than a traditional single-pickup StingRay configuration. The 5-way selector accesses distinct pickup combinations for tight bridge-pickup attack, fuller neck tones and layered voices that balance clarity with body. A 9V 3-band active preamp provides direct control over bass, middle and treble frequencies, making it easier to shape the instrument for different amplifiers, pedals and ensemble settings. Roasted Maple Neck Supports Confident Five-String Playing The roasted maple neck offers added stability and is attached with a sturdy 6-bolt joint, while a dual-action truss rod supports dependable adjustment. Its 1.77" nut width provides comfortable spacing across five strings without making the neck feel excessively broad. The 34" scale helps the low B retain definition and a firm response across fingerstyle playing, pick work and slap technique. Rosewood Fingerboard Offers a Familiar Playing Surface A rosewood fingerboard with a 12" radius provides a comfortable platform for a range of bass techniques. Twenty-two medium frets support clean articulation across the neck, while white dot inlays make position changes easy to track. The neck measures 2.72" wide at the last fret, providing comfortable string spacing in the upper register. A parchment pickguard provides subtle contrast against the understated colorway, giving the bass a distinctive appearance while preserving the familiar StingRay silhouette. Performance-Ready Hardware Completes the Package Open-gear tuners, a Sterling by Music Man-designed bridge and Ernie Ball Regular Slinky strings complete a practical, performance-focused setup. The combination of active HH electronics, comfortable 5-string dimensions and a defined low B makes the bass equally suited for players purchasing their first 5-string and experienced bassists seeking greater tonal flexibility from the StingRay platform.
