Strong match

Who this is for

  • Boardrooms where nobody wants to ride faders during a meeting
  • Fixed installs with four gooseneck or boundary mics
  • Panel discussions where open mics build up room noise

Consider the trade-offs

When to look elsewhere

  • Music mixing — no aux sends, no per-channel monitor path
  • Recording setups needing 48V condensers; phantom here is 12V
  • Anyone under four mics; a small manual mixer costs far less

What matters in use

The specifications, translated

Catalog numbers tell only part of the story. These are the details most likely to change how this product feels, sounds, or fits into a setup.

Detail 01

12 Vdc phantom power

Runs low-voltage electret mics. Many studio condensers expect 48V and will underperform or not work.

Detail 02

13 dB off attenuation

Idle channels drop rather than mute fully, so gating sounds smooth instead of chopping the room tone.

Detail 03

4 ms attack, 0.4 s hold

Opens fast enough to catch the first syllable and stays open through short pauses in speech.

Detail 04

Peak limiter at +16 dBu

Catches a podium thump or shouted word before it clips the output. Red LED shows when it engages.

Detail 05

Low-cut with adjustable corner, 25–320 Hz

Dial out HVAC rumble or proximity boom per channel without a separate outboard EQ.

Detail 06

1-3/4 inch height

Single rack space, so it fits a shallow AV rack alongside amps and DSP.

Final check

Know before you order

  1. 01Mics, cables, and rack ears are separate purchases
  2. 02100–120 Vac only — not for 230V regions without conversion
  3. 03Check your mics run on 12V phantom before ordering

Product questions

Before you decide

Straight answers to the questions shoppers most often ask about this product.

01Can I use an SM7B or other 48V mic with this?

Dynamic mics like the SM7B need no phantom and work fine, though they'll want more gain. Condensers rated for 48V won't get it here — phantom is 12 Vdc.

02Do I have to set anything up for the auto-mixing?

Channels activate on speech automatically. Set gain per channel and the low-cut corner; the gating handles itself from there.

03How many can I link together?

For more than four mics you'd add units and connect them together. Check the link connections on the rear against your channel count.

04Will it work for a band?

No. It's built for speech. Automatic gating fights sustained instruments, and there are no monitor sends.
