Strong match

Who this is for

  • Bridge position on tremolo-equipped guitars with wide string spacing
  • High-gain rhythm work where a stock humbucker turns muddy
  • Drop tunings needing a firmer, more defined low end

Consider the trade-offs

When to look elsewhere

  • Narrow-spaced bridges — poles will sit off from the strings
  • Clean, dynamic playing; output compresses early
  • Neck position, which this is neither voiced nor spaced for

What matters in use

The specifications, translated

Catalog numbers tell only part of the story. These are the details most likely to change how this product feels, sounds, or fits into a setup.

Detail 01

Trembucker spacing

Poles sit wider apart to line up under strings on bridges with a wide string spread, keeping volume even across the neck.

Detail 02

Distortion voicing

High output hits the amp front end hard, so a clean channel breaks up sooner and a gain channel thickens.

Detail 03

Bridge-position design

Wound hotter to match the smaller string swing at the bridge, where a neck-voiced pickup would sound thin.

Detail 04

Black finish

Cosmetic only. Black bobbins disappear against dark hardware and pickguards; no effect on tone.

Detail 05

$99 street

Single-pickup price. Doing both bridge and neck means a second purchase and a full harness rewire.

Final check

Know before you order

  1. 01Measure string spacing at your bridge saddles first; standard-spaced guitars want the non-Trembucker version
  2. 02No mounting ring, springs, screws, or wiring harness included
  3. 03High-output pickups sit lower than stock — expect to reset pickup height after install

Product questions

Before you decide

Straight answers to the questions shoppers most often ask about this product.

01What is the difference between a Trembucker and a regular humbucker?

Pole piece spacing. Trembucker poles are set wider to align with the wider string spread found on tremolo and Fender-style bridges. Electronics and voicing are otherwise the same.

02Will it fit a Gibson-style bridge?

It will physically mount, but the wider poles won't line up under the strings on narrow Gibson-style spacing. The standard-spaced version is the right choice there.

03Is it too hot for clean tones?

It compresses early and hits the amp hard, so cleans stay usable but lose some sparkle and dynamic range. It is built for gain.

04Can I split the coils?

Only if the pickup ships with four-conductor wiring and you add a push-pull pot or switch. Check the lead wiring before planning a split.
