01Can I put this in the neck position?
It's the bridge version. At the neck it would come out much darker and heavier than intended, since it's wound and voiced for the bridge spot.
02Will it fit a standard humbucker route?
It's a standard humbucker, so it drops into a normal humbucker cavity. The extra thing to plan for is where the battery lives.
03Does it clean up when I roll the volume back?
Less than a passive pickup. The preamp holds output steady, so cleans come out compressed and even rather than dynamic.
04Do I still need a boost pedal for metal?
Output is already high, so the pickup does much of what a boost does. Use one for extra midrange focus rather than more volume.
