01What does the star in M2* mean?
It marks the open-backbore version. Same rim and cup as the M2 family, but with a larger Schmidt backbore and shorter throat, giving less resistance.
02How is this different from the M2C?
The M2C uses a tighter 27 throat and a Schilke C backbore for a more compact, resistant feel. The M2* is 24 throat with a larger Schmidt backbore.
03Will it work on a C or Eb trumpet?
It's a trumpet mouthpiece and fits standard trumpet receivers. Within the M line, the M1D is specifically called out as a good Bb and Eb option.
04Is a 24 throat too open for me?
If you already run out of air on a 26 throat or play mostly in the upper register, look at the C-backbore M models instead.
