01What does the F cup actually change?
It's a deep V shape rather than a bowl. That gives a darker, more conical color and lets you play at full volume while staying soft and mellow instead of bright.
02Can I use the F3 for lead playing?
No. The deep V cup and open throat work against edge and high-register ease. The Standard series shallow A-cup models are built for that job.
03How is F3 different from F1 and F2?
Only rim diameter. All three share the deep V cup, 20 throat and shorter shank. F1 uses model 1 diameter, F2 model 2, F3 model 3. F150 uses model 150.
04Why is the shank shorter than my other mouthpieces?
The deep F cup adds volume, which would pull pitch. The shorter shank compensates so intonation lands where it should. It's intentional, not a fit problem.
