01What is the difference between the 15 and 15B?
Same .674 inch diameter and 26 throat. The 15B has a B style cup, which is shallower and produces a more brilliant sound than the standard 15.
02Is gold plating worth the extra cost?
It matters most if silver irritates your lip or you want a slicker feel. Cup depth and rim shape affect your playing far more than plating.
03Is 15B too big for a high school player?
It sits at the small end of Group II. Workable for a strong player, but the larger diameter takes more embouchure control than a typical student size.
04Does it work on Eb or piccolo trumpet?
It uses the standard trumpet shank so it physically fits. Schilke builds specific models for those horns, like the 16B4 for Eb and the 11Ax for piccolo.
