That's what it's built for — a free-blowing, clear-sounding piece that isn't specialized toward lead or symphonic playing. It's the smallest diameter in this group, which favors endurance.
02What's the difference between the 15 and the 15B?
Same .674" rim diameter. The 15B has a shallower B cup, which produces a more brilliant sound. The plain 15 is fuller and less edgy.
03Should I get the 15 or the 15C4?
Same diameter, different rim. The 15C4 uses a number 4 semi-flat rim for increased endurance. Choose it if long sets wear you out; choose the 15 for more flexibility.
04Is it worth this much over a standard mouthpiece?
You're paying for gold plating and Schilke's tolerances, not a different sound category. The dimensions do the work — if the size fits you, the piece will play the same in silver.
