01Will this give me high notes right away?
It reduces the effort up high, but it doesn't build range. The shallow cup and small diameter help players who already have the chops and air behind them.
02What's the difference between the 6A4a and the 13A4a?
Both use the shallow A cup, number 4 rim and tight a-backbore. The 6A4a is smaller at .630 inch versus .660, so it pushes further toward extreme high register.
03Can I use it as my only mouthpiece?
Not recommended. The shallow cup gives up low-register body and tonal weight, which makes concert band and orchestral work harder than it needs to be.
04What does the cushion rim actually do?
The number 4 rim is wide and semi-flat, spreading mouthpiece pressure over more lip area. That reduces cutoff on long sets, though it can dull articulation feel.
