Yes, it uses a standard trumpet shank and drops into a standard receiver. It will not fit a cornet, which takes a shorter shank.
02What is the difference between 14A4x and 14A4a?
Same cup diameter and shallow A cup. The 14A4a has a tight a-backbore that adds resistance. The x has a large backbore that blows much more openly.
03Is this good for a beginner?
No. A shallow A cup rewards a developed embouchure. Schilke's 13, with a C cup and rounded number 3 rim, is what they list for students and developing players.
04Can I use it on piccolo trumpet?
Yes. The x-backbore was built for Schilke's piccolo trumpets, where it improves ease of playing and opens up the sound.
