14 is the cup diameter, A the shallow cup depth, 4 the semi-flat rim contour, and the lowercase a the tight backbore that adds resistance up high.
03How is this different from a 13A4?
The 13A4 sits slightly narrower and uses the standard c-backbore, so it blows freer. The 14A4a is wider with more resistance behind the throat.
04Will it fit any trumpet?
Yes — standard trumpet shank, so it seats in any normal trumpet receiver. Cornet and flugelhorn need their own shanks.
