It works, though the 13 is the more common student choice — its rounder rim and C cup give quicker response and more forgiveness while chops are still developing.
02What's the difference between the 12 and the 12A4?
The 12A4 has nearly the same .658 cup diameter but a shallow A cup and semi-flat number 4 rim, which favors upper register and endurance over full tone.
03Will this fit my trumpet?
It uses a standard trumpet shank and fits standard Bb trumpet receivers. It will not seat correctly in a cornet.
04Does silver plating wear off?
Silver plate wears with years of regular playing, usually at the rim contact point first. Wipe it down after playing and rinse the piece regularly.
