01How is the 22 different from the 20?
Same general design, larger inside diameter — 18.03mm versus 17.78mm. The 22 gives more room for the lips to vibrate; the 20 is tighter and easier on endurance.
02Is this too big for me?
If your current cup is under about 17mm, the jump is significant. Wide rims reward a set embouchure and punish an unset one, especially above the staff.
03Does the gold plating change the sound?
The cup, rim, and throat dimensions are what shape the sound, and they're the same as the silver version. Plating affects how the rim feels against the lip.
04Will it fit my trumpet?
No. Cornet receivers use a different shank than trumpets. You need the trumpet version of the equivalent size.
