01What is the difference between the 46 and the 46D?
The 46D is slightly wider at .975 inch versus .966 inch and holds more cup volume, so it plays fuller and more resonant. Both use the 15/64 throat.
02Will this fit my student trombone?
Only if it has a large-shank receiver. Many student tenors are small shank, and this piece will not seat in them.
03Can I use it on bass trombone?
It is far too small. Schilke's bass sizes start around the 58 at 1.090 inch and run through the 60 at 1.143 inch.
04Is it good for euphonium?
Yes for a younger player on a large-shank horn. Euphonium players wanting a bigger, darker sound usually move to the 51D or 52D.
