01How does a heavyweight differ from a standard mouthpiece?
More metal mass around the cup. It adds resistance and centers the sound, at the cost of some of the free-blowing responsiveness a lighter blank gives.
02Is this a good student mouthpiece?
The 13 is the student-oriented size in this series, with a rounder rim for quick response. The 17 is a larger diameter aimed at more developed players.
03Will this help my high register?
Not primarily. The shallow A-cup models with tight backbores are the ones built for upper register. The 17 is a medium all-around cup.
04Does it fit any trumpet?
It uses a standard trumpet shank, so it fits standard Bb and C trumpets. It will not fit cornet or flugelhorn receivers.
