Independent shopping perspective
The Korena take
Built for high-output electric-guitar parts, the C-1 Platinum combines a mahogany body and quilted-maple top with an active EMG 81 at the bridge and a Sustainiac at the neck. The EMG 81 is described with focused mids and defined lows for high-gain work, while the Sustainiac uses magnetic fields to keep notes ringing for drones, harmonics, and held chords. A Floyd Rose Special enables deep pitch effects, and the 24-fret Thin C maple neck with Ultra Access cutaway supports fast playing high on the fingerboard.
Strong match
Who this is for
- High-gain band mixes where a defined bridge-pickup response needs to remain clear.
- Lead passages requiring upper-fret access, quick legato work, or deep tremolo effects.
- Sustained chords, drones, and harmonic passages using the Sustainiac neck pickup.
Consider the trade-offs
When to look elsewhere
- Players who require passive pickups; the guitar has an active pickup configuration.
- Players who do not want a tremolo-equipped bridge; it uses a Floyd Rose Special.
