01Is 1.5 too soft for a beginner?
It is on the softest end, which is the point early on. It makes notes speak with less air and less lip pressure. Expect to outgrow it as your embouchure strengthens.
02Will these fit my alto sax?
No. Soprano reeds are narrower and shorter. They will not seal against an alto mouthpiece and will leak air.
03How long does one reed last?
Rotating several reeds, a few weeks each is typical. Chips, a wavy tip, or a dull sound mean it is done.
04What is the difference between Rico and Rico Royal?
Royal is a filed cut, with cane removed just below the vamp. It responds a bit easier and brighter than the standard unfiled Rico at the same strength.
