01What does Plasticover actually do?
The coating seals the cane against moisture, so the reed doesn't swell, warp, or need much break-in. It also holds up longer than bare cane.
02Is strength 4 too hard for me?
If you're not already comfortable on 3.5 baritone reeds, yes. A 4 needs real air support and a firm embouchure to speak cleanly.
03Do these still need soaking?
Far less than bare cane, since the coating blocks water absorption. A quick wet is enough to seat it against the mouthpiece.
04Can I use these on tenor sax?
No. Baritone reeds are wider and longer than tenor reeds and won't seal on a tenor mouthpiece.
