01Can I use this as a front head?
Yes. It works on either side of an 18" bass drum. As a front head it is unported, so you would need to cut a hole yourself for miking.
02Will this fit a 20" bass drum?
No. This is an 18 in. head and only fits an 18" shell. Bass drum heads do not stretch to fit a larger diameter.
03Do I need a beater patch?
Recommended if you play hard or use a hard beater. It spreads impact and keeps the strike zone from wearing through early.
04How does this compare to a single-ply head?
It is thicker, so you get more low-end thump, shorter sustain, and longer life. Single-ply heads sound more open and resonant.
