01Is this a batter or front head?
It works on either side of a 26-inch bass drum. On the batter it takes beater contact; on the front it controls how much the drum rings.
02Will it fit a 24-inch bass drum?
No. Bass drum heads are cut to a single diameter. A 26-inch head will not seat on a 24-inch shell.
03Coated or clear for a kick?
Coated gives a slightly warmer, softer attack. Clear is a bit brighter and more focused. On a 26 the difference is subtle.
04Do I need to muffle it?
Not necessarily. On its own it rings long. If you want a shorter note, put a pillow or folded towel against the head.
