01Do I have to drill my drum?
Only if the shell has no muffler hole already. Many older Pearl shells came drilled for one. Check the inside of the shell before ordering.
02Is this better than gel pads or tape?
Different. It is adjustable from outside and stays out of the way, but it damps one spot from inside rather than anywhere you place it.
03Will it work on my snare and toms?
Any drum with the right shell hole and clearance. Depth and hardware spacing vary, so check fit on the specific drum.
04Can I remove damping entirely?
Back the pad off the head and the drum rings freely again. The hardware stays mounted in the shell either way.
