Independent shopping perspective
The Korena take
Built around two independently switchable preamp voices, the Subway TT-800 lets one bass move between the Boogie channel’s Bass 400+ character and the Subway channel’s more modern voice. Its dual-mono layout can also assign a channel to each of two instruments. Both channels carry the same detailed EQ and high-pass controls, while the patch-point effects-loop design can keep processing separate or bring an external preamp into one channel. The 800W Class-D section keeps the head compact at 7 lb.
Strong match
Who this is for
- Changing between two bass voices from one instrument without rebuilding the amp settings.
- Using two instruments with separate channel settings and independently routed effects processing.
- Studio work needing XLR direct output, headphone monitoring, and a built-in tuner.
Consider the trade-offs
When to look elsewhere
- Players who need more than two amplifier channels.
