Independent shopping perspective
The Korena take
Built around Martin’s smallest acoustic-electric format, the LX1RE combines a solid spruce top with rosewood-pattern HPL back and sides. Its Fishman Sonitone preamp keeps the controls close at hand beneath the soundhole: rotate for volume and tone, then connect and play. The 23-inch scale and supplied gig bag make it a focused option for travel, student practice, playing at home, or taking along to a campfire.
Strong match
Who this is for
- Travel and campfire playing where a compact acoustic-electric guitar and gig bag are useful.
- Student practice or at-home sessions with straightforward onboard volume and tone adjustment.
Consider the trade-offs
When to look elsewhere
- Players needing a cutaway guitar; the LX1RE is a non-cutaway model.
- Players who require more than 20 frets.
