Pentode/Triode switching
Switching to Triode mode halves the amplifier’s power output.

Independent shopping perspective
Marshall’s 2555X is a 100W tube head that brings the original 2555 panel feature set into current production. Pentode/Triode switching gives you a full-power setting and a setting that halves the output. At the back, five speaker outputs span 16 ohms through 4 ohms, replacing the original model’s impedance selector. External chassis bias points also make re-valving and servicing more direct. Each amplifier is built for the mains voltage of its destination country.
