MackieVLZ4 Series 802VLZ4 8-Channel Ultra Compact Mixer

Independent shopping perspective
The Korena take
At eight channels and only 1.8 inches deep, the 802VLZ4 keeps the VLZ4 analog-mixer format in a notably small footprint. It uses Mackie’s Onyx microphone preamps alongside the series’ high-headroom, low-noise design, transparent EQ, custom op-amps, and negative summing-bus architecture. The powder-coated steel wrap-around chassis and sealed rotary pots provide a deliberately protected control surface. High-contrast knobs make it easier to work from the mixer in low-light settings.
Strong match
Who this is for
- Small analog mixing setups where an eight-channel mixer and 8.9 × 10.7-inch footprint are appropriate.
- Low-light work where the high-contrast knobs help make controls more visible.
Consider the trade-offs
When to look elsewhere
- Setups requiring more than eight channels.
- Users who need a mixer shallower than its listed 1.8-inch depth.
