No. This is cut for soprano saxophone. Alto needs an alto-shank mouthpiece — JodyJazz makes the DV in alto sizing separately.
02What reed strength should I use?
Most players land a bit softer than what they use on a stock mouthpiece. Buy a mixed strength box and test before committing.
03Is 7* too open for me?
.075 is a moderate soprano opening. If you already play a medium facing comfortably, it should feel familiar with a little more air.
04How is this different from the 8*?
The 8* has a .085 tip — wider, needing more air and generally softer reeds. The 7* is easier to control for longer sets.
