Independent shopping perspective

The Korena take

The 424 Gain Stage brings cassette-recorder-style gain staging to a pedalboard in an analog fuzz format. Its UPC4570 and NJM4565 op-amps underpin sounds ranging from cleaner, rubbery response through preamp grit to heavily saturated fuzz. Volume, two gain controls, bass and treble let you balance level, drive and EQ. A 1/4-inch output and balanced XLR output can be used at the same time, letting the pedal feed an amp while also routing directly to a mixer or recording interface. Soft-touch switching and buffered bypass complete the practical stage-and-studio layout.
