Independent shopping perspective
The Korena take
In Black, the JS22 Surfcaster is a right-handed six-string with a poplar body, bolt-on maple neck, and amaranth fingerboard. Its twin Jackson high-output humbuckers are selected by a three-way toggle, then managed through master volume and master tone controls. The 24 jumbo frets provide a broad fretting surface for technical passages, while the Jackson Hardtail keeps the bridge fixed. Sealed die-cast tuners, black hardware, and a natural satin neck finish round out a straightforward electric-guitar layout for moving between chord work, heavy riffs, and lead parts.
Strong match
Who this is for
- Working through heavy riffs and clean chord passages with neck and bridge humbucker options.
- Practicing technical parts across a 24-jumbo-fret, six-string fingerboard.
- Using a fixed-bridge guitar setup rather than a tremolo-equipped instrument.
Consider the trade-offs
When to look elsewhere
- Players who need a tremolo bridge; this model uses a fixed Jackson Hardtail.
- Buyers who need a case or gig bag supplied with the guitar.
