IbanezSR505N 5-String Electric Bass Guitar - Midnight Arctic Ocean Matte

The Ibanez SR505N 5-string electric bass guitar is a bold, extended-range evolution of the iconic SR platform, combining effortless five-string playability with the raw, muscular growl of Nordstrand Big Break pickups. Designed for players who demand speed, clarity and commanding low-end authority, the SR505N delivers a voice that remains articulate and defined across the entire range. A lightweight okoume body keeps the instrument comfortable and responsive, while a fast, stable five-piece roasted maple and walnut neck supports confident movement in any register. Paired with Ibanez Custom Electronics for deep, intuitive tone shaping, the SR505N offers a modern bass experience that blends extended-range depth, player-focused ergonomics and unmistakable SR character. Okoume Body for Lightweight Feel and Focused Low-End Response The SR505N’s okoume body provides a bright, solid tonal foundation with a focused low end that remains tight and controlled, even when exploring the extended range of a five-string bass. Known for its light weight, okoume helps keep the instrument well-balanced and comfortable during long rehearsals or performances. Its natural resonance supports quick note attack and consistent projection, allowing bass lines to sit clearly in the mix. Combined with the SR’s contoured body shape, the okoume construction delivers a responsive feel that suits modern playing styles demanding both power and precision. Roasted Maple/Walnut Neck and Rosewood Fingerboard for Stability and Control A five-piece roasted maple and walnut neck anchors the SR505N with enhanced stability and long-term reliability. The roasting process improves resistance to humidity and temperature changes, ensuring consistent feel and performance across all five strings. Paired with a rosewood fingerboard, the neck produces a balanced tonal response with a focused midrange and controlled warmth. Medium frets enhance note accuracy and intonation, supporting clean articulation and smooth movement across the fingerboard, whether laying down tight grooves or navigating extended-range passages. Nordstrand Big Break Pickups and Ibanez Custom Electronics for Versatile Power Nordstrand Big Break pickups give the SR505N its bold, authoritative voice, combining a split-coil design with a soapbar format for full-bodied output and impressive clarity. They deliver aggressive punch while retaining the definition and noiseless performance associated with single-coil designs. Ibanez Custom Electronics provide a three-band EQ for intuitive tone shaping, complemented by a three-way mid-frequency switch that allows precise control over midrange focus. An onboard EQ bypass enables passive operation, with the treble control acting as a global tone knob for simple, traditional tonal shaping when desired. MR5S Bridge for Adjustable String Spacing and Solid Response The MR5S bridge adds a layer of customization and consistency to the SR505N’s performance. Adjustable saddles allow string spacing to be fine-tuned by ±1.5 mm, letting players tailor the feel to their technique and preferences. Its solid construction promotes efficient transfer of string vibration to the body, supporting sustain and clear note definition across the entire range of the instrument. Whether favoring tighter spacing for speed or a wider layout for expressive fingerstyle playing, the MR5S bridge enhances both comfort and control. The Ibanez SR505N: Iconic SR Performance Meets Extended Range Power The Ibanez SR505N takes the familiar comfort and sleek design of the SR series and pushes it into extended-range territory with confidence and authority. Its lightweight okoume body, roasted maple and walnut neck and flexible electronics provide a responsive, reliable platform for modern bassists. Anchored by the powerful, articulate voice of Nordstrand Big Break pickups, the SR505N delivers clarity, punch and control across all five strings, making it a refined, performance-ready bass built for demanding stage and studio environments.
