Independent shopping perspective
The Korena take
Modern fingerstyle is the focus of the right-handed PA Series acoustic-electric. The asymmetric jumbo body uses a solid cedar top with okoume back and sides, and combines a multi-piece African mahogany/pau ferro neck with an ebony fingerboard. Modified X-M bracing is designed for efficient string vibration, while the ebony top-loading bridge is intended to strengthen the percussive element of the sound. Ibanez custom electronics provide separate magnetic and contact pickup volume controls, letting you blend the two pickups for added depth and brightness.
Strong match
Who this is for
- Modern fingerstyle performances that make use of the bridge’s stated percussive response.
- Amplified acoustic sets requiring separate control of magnetic and contact pickup volumes.
Consider the trade-offs
When to look elsewhere
- Players seeking a non-offset acoustic body rather than the asymmetric jumbo format.
