Independent shopping perspective
The Korena take
guild builds the m-40 standard in the usa around a concert body, solid sitka spruce top, and solid african mahogany back and sides. its voice is described as warm, articulate, and balanced. a 24-3/4-inch scale, c-profile mahogany neck, 1-3/4-inch bone nut, and indian rosewood fingerboard define the playing layout. forward-shifted scalloped adirondack spruce bracing, 20 frets, and a dual-action truss rod round out the instrument.
Strong match
Who this is for
- singer-songwriter arrangements where the concert body is used for vocal accompaniment.
- fingerstyle passages using the wider nut spacing for complex chord fingerings.
- stage or studio work, both named uses for the concert-size design.
Consider the trade-offs
When to look elsewhere
- left-handed players; the m-40 standard is specified as right handed.
- players seeking a dreadnought body; this model uses guild's smaller concert body.
