01How do I know if I need 3/32 or 1/8?
Pull your current saddle and measure its thickness with calipers, or check the bridge slot. There is no way to make a 3/32 saddle fill a 1/8 slot properly.
02Will this lower my action?
Only after you sand the bottom. Removing material from the saddle base lowers string height at the bridge. Roughly two units off the saddle equals one unit at the 12th fret.
03Does it work with an under-saddle pickup?
It can, but the bottom must be sanded perfectly flat and square so it contacts the pickup evenly across all six strings. Uneven contact causes weak or loud individual strings.
04Do I have to shape the top?
Yes. As a slab blank it comes flat, so you need to radius the top to match your fretboard curve and round the string contact point.
