Independent shopping perspective
The Korena take
Gold Tone’s right-handed MicroBass pairs a 23-inch scale with dedicated synthetic strings in an acoustic-electric bass format. It can be played acoustically or connected through its active piezo system, with master volume and separate bass and treble controls on board. The electronic tuner mutes the output while engaged, helping keep pitch adjustments silent through an amplifier. Inserting a 1/4-inch instrument cable engages the tuner and mutes the bass until the tuner button is pressed. A gig bag and 9V battery are included.
Strong match
Who this is for
- Acoustic bass playing without an amplifier, with the option to connect through the built-in piezo pickup.
- Quick pitch adjustments during amplified use, using the onboard tuner’s output-mute function.
Consider the trade-offs
When to look elsewhere
- Left-handed players; this model is right handed.
