GibsonDealer Select Southern Jumbo Koa Custom Acoustic-Electric Guitar - Natural

Some instruments reveal their character slowly, while others announce it the moment you strike a chord—and the Gibson Dealer Select Southern Jumbo Koa Custom acoustic-electric guitar does both. Built in limited numbers through Gibson Custom’s Dealer Select program, this round-shoulder dreadnought pairs a solid Sitka spruce top with hand-selected koa back, sides, and neck, creating a voice that is clear, balanced, and unmistakably refined. A short 24.75" scale length and 1.725" nut width give you a relaxed, responsive feel, while rosewood appointments, mother-of-pearl crown inlays, and a 50s-style white pickguard frame the guitar’s classic Southern Jumbo identity. Outfitted with an LR Baggs Element VTC pickup system and delivered in a hardshell case, this is a boutique, dealer-curated Gibson built for players and collectors who value tone that evolves and craftsmanship that endures. Koa and Sitka Spruce Create a Voice That Grows With You The koa used for the back, sides, and neck brings warmth, shimmer, and visual depth, while the Sitka spruce top adds articulation and dynamic headroom. Together, these tonewoods produce a balanced response with clear fundamentals and rich overtones. As the koa ages, the sound opens up further, rewarding long-term ownership with increased complexity and a more personal tonal fingerprint. Short Scale Delivers a Familiar Southern Jumbo Feel The 24.75" scale length gives the Southern Jumbo Koa Custom the relaxed feel players expect from Gibson’s round-shoulder acoustics. String tension is slightly lower than long-scale models, making the guitar comfortable to play for extended sessions and easier to navigate across the neck. This scale length appeals to players who prefer a traditional Gibson feel, a slightly more compact response, and a familiar setup that translates easily between studio, stage, and songwriting environments. LR Baggs Element VTC Preserves the Acoustic Personality The LR Baggs Element VTC under-saddle pickup captures the guitar’s resonance with a clean, natural amplified signal. Discreet soundhole-mounted volume and tone controls let you adjust quickly without interrupting the instrument’s vintage aesthetic. Plugged in, the Southern Jumbo Koa Custom retains its warmth and clarity, making it equally comfortable on stage, in the studio, or through a PA. A Dealer Select Southern Jumbo Defined by Detail Premium appointments—open-back vintage tuners, a belly-up rosewood bridge, nickel hardware, and mother-of-pearl crown inlays—underscore this guitar’s Custom Shop pedigree. Finished in Antique Natural to highlight the koa’s grain, each instrument reflects careful wood selection and small-batch construction. For musicians and collectors seeking a Southern Jumbo with rare materials, evolving tone, and unmistakable Gibson character, this Dealer Select Koa Custom offers a refined voice and lasting value designed to deepen with every year of playing.
