Depth does not matter. If the drum is 12 inches across and has 8 lugs, it fits.
02Can I use this as the top hoop?
No. The snare-side hoop has gates cut for the snare wires, which would sit under your stick on the batter side.
03Does it come with tension rods?
No. Reuse the rods from your old hoop, or buy 8 separately.
04Why replace a hoop?
Bent hoops cause uneven tuning and dead spots. If rods no longer tighten evenly, the hoop is usually the reason.
