Unfretted ebony fingerboard
There are no frets under the strings; side-dot markers provide the visible position reference.

Independent shopping perspective
Designed around Tony Franklin’s fretless Precision Bass format, this right-handed bass pairs an alder body with a modern C maple neck and an unfretted ebony board. Side dots provide position reference across the fingerboard. Its pickup arrangement combines an American Series Precision Bass unit at the neck with Franklin’s signature Jazz Bass bridge pickup, selected through a three-way switch. The E-string Hipshot Bass Xtender adds a Drop D tuning option from the instrument itself.
