S-1 active/passive switch
Lets you select active or passive operation from the master-volume control.

Independent shopping perspective
The American Ultra II Precision Bass combines Ultra II Noiseless Vintage Precision and Jazz Bass pickups with a pan control, so you can blend the two voices from the instrument. Its S-1 switch changes between active and passive operation; stacked controls cover midrange, treble, bass, and passive tone, while a mini-toggle selects 325 Hz or 750 Hz for the midrange. A sculpted alder body and roasted maple Modern D neck bring together the familiar Precision Bass shape with a compound-radius fingerboard, tapered heel, and a HiMass bridge offering two stringing routes.
