Independent shopping perspective
The Korena take
EVH’s left-handed Wolfgang Special combines an arched-top basswood body with a graphite-reinforced, quartersawn maple bolt-on neck and an ebony compound-radius fingerboard. Its 22 jumbo frets and body-mounted Alnico II humbuckers suit riffing and lead work, with articulate voicing and sustain for chords and melodic lines. The Floyd Rose locking bridge and nut work with the EVH D-Tuna for large pitch changes and fast shifts to Drop D. Stealth Black is finished with cream binding, a matching headstock, and black hardware.
Strong match
Who this is for
- Left-handed stage sets requiring extreme tremolo pitch changes while maintaining precise tuning.
- Riff and lead parts that call for sustained chords and articulate melodic lines.
Consider the trade-offs
When to look elsewhere
- Right-handed players; the guitar is built in a left-handed orientation.
- Buyers who need a case or gig bag supplied with the guitar.
