No. Resonant heads are thin and made for the bottom. Playing on it will dent and split it quickly.
02Does the bottom head really affect the sound?
Yes. Its tension against the batter controls sustain and pitch bend. A dented bottom head makes the tom choke.
03Will this work on a 14" snare?
No. Snare-side heads are far thinner so the wires respond. This tom head is too thick for that.
04How tight should I tune it?
Start at the same pitch as the batter for a full, even note. Tighter than the batter raises pitch and shortens sustain.
