Independent shopping perspective
The Korena take
A large rack snare basket from DW that holds 13 to 15 in. snares. For drummers mounting a snare on a rack instead of a stand.
Strong match
Who this is for
- Rack setups where a snare stand's tripod legs get in the way
- Mounting a second or auxiliary snare in a crowded kit
- Big kits where floor space around the throne is gone
Consider the trade-offs
When to look elsewhere
- Drummers with no rack — this needs one to mount to
- Snares smaller than 13 in.; the basket is sized large
- Anyone happy with a standard snare stand
What matters in use
The specifications, translated
Catalog numbers tell only part of the story. These are the details most likely to change how this product feels, sounds, or fits into a setup.
Detail 02
Basket, not a full stand
No legs or base. It clamps to rack tubing, so the mounting hardware has to come from your rack.
Detail 03
Rack mounting
Puts the snare exactly where you set it and keeps it there. Repositioning takes longer than kicking a stand over.
Detail 04
DW hardware
Sized and threaded to DW rack systems. Fit on other brands depends on tube diameter and clamp type.
Final check
Know before you order
- 01You need a rack and a clamp to mount this — neither is part of the basket
- 02Measure your snare's diameter; under 13 in. will not seat properly
- 03Check your rack's tube size against the clamp you plan to use
Product questions
Before you decide
Straight answers to the questions shoppers most often ask about this product.
01Does this include the clamp to attach it to my rack?
Plan on sourcing the rack clamp separately. This is the basket that cradles the snare.
02Will it hold a 14 in. snare?
Yes. 14 in. sits in the middle of its 13 to 15 in. range.
03Can I use it with a non-DW rack?
It is built around DW rack hardware. Compatibility with another brand comes down to matching tube diameter and clamp threading.
04Will it work with a deep snare?
The sizing given is diameter, 13 to 15 in. Depth is not the limiting factor for a basket; diameter is.
