No. This is the small-shank 6BS. The large-shank version of the same cup is the 6BL, with an identical 25.40mm diameter, 6.26mm rim and 6.66mm throat.
02What is the difference between 6BS and 6BL?
Shank size. Same 25.40mm cup, 6.26mm rim, 6.66mm throat and V-type backbore on both. Pick by which receiver your horn has.
03Is this a good mouthpiece for lead playing?
It leans that way. Narrow cup, tight throat and V backbore give a brilliant high register and hold up over long sets.
04Does the V-type backbore make it harder to blow?
It feels more resistant than an open or barrel backbore. That resistance is what steadies the top end; it also means you tire less at volume.
