01What's the difference between the 7 and the 7N?
Rim width. Both are 17mm cup and 4.50mm throat, but the 7N rim is 3.85mm instead of 4.50mm — narrower, with more flexibility and an easier high range.
02Is this a good beginner mouthpiece?
It works, but the 5 is the one aimed at beginners. It has a slightly larger 17.50mm cup and a shaped funnel, which is more forgiving across the whole range.
03Will it fit my horn?
It uses the standard French horn shank, so it fits normal single, double, and triple horn receivers.
04Should I get silver or gold plating?
Pick by feel and skin sensitivity, not sound. Silver grips a little more, gold is slicker and is the fallback if silver irritates your lips.
