Only if your horn takes a large shank — typical of large-bore tenors and bass trombones. Small-shank student and small-bore tenor horns will not accept it.
02Is 1AL good for a beginner?
No. At 27.11mm with a 7.45mm throat and open backbore, it needs air support and embouchure strength a beginner has not built yet.
03How does it compare to the 3AL?
The 1AL is wider (27.11mm vs 26.40mm), has a narrower rim, and an open rather than barrel backbore — freer blowing and darker, with less rim cushion.
04Does it come with a case?
No. You get the mouthpiece by itself, so budget for a pouch if you carry it loose in a gig bag.
