Independent shopping perspective
The Korena take
Dean’s Exile Select 7-String pairs an alder body and burled-maple top in Natural Black Burst with a design focused on speed and tuning stability. The 25.5-inch three-piece maple neck is bolted on and carries 24 stainless frets over an ebony fingerboard. Fishman Fluence Modern pickups sit at the neck and bridge, selected by a three-way blade. A push/pull volume/tone control, Floyd Rose 1000 bridge, and glow-in-the-dark side dots complete the playing layout.
Strong match
Who this is for
- Seven-string arrangements that call for access across 24 stainless frets.
- Stage work where glow-in-the-dark side dots provide visible position markers.
Consider the trade-offs
When to look elsewhere
- Left-handed use; this is a right-handed instrument.
