Strong match

Who this is for

  • Silencing amp hiss between riffs at high gain
  • Taming single-coil hum on stage under lighting rigs
  • Quieting a long pedal chain that adds noise as it stacks

Consider the trade-offs

When to look elsewhere

  • Clean players with humbuckers and a short chain
  • Anyone wanting long sustained feedback or drone tails
  • Players expecting it to clean up a bad cable or ground

What matters in use

The specifications, translated

Catalog numbers tell only part of the story. These are the details most likely to change how this product feels, sounds, or fits into a setup.

Detail 01

Threshold control

Sets how loud your signal must be before the gate opens. Too high and quiet notes get chopped off.

Detail 02

Decay control

Controls how fast the gate closes. Slow decay preserves natural note tails; fast decay is tighter but can sound abrupt.

Detail 03

Send and return jacks

Lets you loop noisy pedals through it so the gate keys off your dry signal, not the noise those pedals add.

Detail 04

Compact BOSS enclosure, 2.87 x 5.08 inches

Standard compact footprint, but the send/return jacks mean you need routing space around it on the board.

Detail 05

Under a pound

Metal chassis. Handles stomping and travel without the jacks working loose.

Final check

Know before you order

  1. 01Power supply and patch cables are not included
  2. 02Two extra patch cables needed to use the send/return loop properly
  3. 03It reduces noise, it does not remove it — set threshold with the amp at gig volume

Product questions

Before you decide

Straight answers to the questions shoppers most often ask about this product.

01What's the difference between this and a plain noise gate?

The send/return loop is the difference. It watches your guitar signal directly to decide when to open, so noisy pedals inside the loop cannot fool the gate into staying open.

02Where do I put it in the chain?

Use the loop: guitar into the pedal's input, send out to your noisy pedals, their output back into return. That puts the noisy gear inside the gate's control.

03Will it cut off my sustain?

It can if the threshold sits too high. Back the threshold down until long notes ring out fully, then raise it just until the noise between phrases drops away.

04Does it fix ground hum from bad wiring?

It mutes the hum when you are not playing, but the hum is still there under your notes. A ground loop needs fixing at the source — this only hides it between phrases.
