01Is the Bach 1B good for a beginner?
No. The 1 is the widest rim Bach makes and demands a developed embouchure. Most students start closer to a 7C or 5C and work up.
02What is the difference between 1B and 1C?
The cup depth. B is deeper than C, giving a darker sound and stronger low register, with slightly more effort in the upper range.
03Will this fit my cornet?
No. This is a trumpet shank. Cornets take a smaller cornet shank and will not seat correctly.
04Silver or gold plating — does it matter?
Mainly feel. Silver is a bit firmer and grippier, gold is slicker and warmer to the touch. Sound difference is minimal.
