01How is this different from the coated Power Dot version?
Same center dot, different surface. This one is uncoated, so the attack is brighter and slightly longer. The coated version is warmer and takes brushes.
02Do I need to tape or gel this head?
No. Control is built into the head. Adding external muffling on top usually leaves the tom sounding dead.
03Will it work on a 12-inch snare?
It fits, but it is a tom head. A snare-specific head gives sharper crack and better ghost-note response.
04Is one head enough to re-head my tom?
It covers the top (batter) side. A full re-head needs a resonant head for the bottom as well.
